Back Pain
Back pain is common and will affect most people at some point in their life. The pain can be in varying degrees, from low grade niggles to chronic back pain that is debilitating. Regardless of the level of pain, the most important thing is to work out the source of the pain and how it originated.

Your spine is the prop to your body containing the vital spinal nerves that communicate with the rest of the body. It comprises a block bones (the vertebrae) and spacers between these are known as intervertebral discs, which are susceptible to damage.

The vast majority of back pain is ‘simple’ or ‘mechanical’ and is related to the joints/muscle and ligaments without any serious underlying cause. Mechanical back pain can be caused by bad posture, sitting in an awkward position for a prolonged amount of time, trauma and many other things.

A rarer form of back pain is through compression of nerves, through a disc prolapse or wear and tear, this can occasionally produce various symptoms involving pain down the leg which is often known as sciatica.
